What is cashback?
Many online retailers will now supply a discount in the form of a cash rebate when someone shops with them online via an intermediary such as the Reward Matrix. The cashback amount received is over and above the internet price and any other discounts that the shopper received. The retailer views this as another marketing strategy to attract sales, with each marketing strategy incurring a different cost of acquiring a customer. The retailer also benefits since the costs of servicing their customers over the internet is generally lower than through face-to-face service or via call centres.

Cashback collects in the member’s secure Reward Matrix Account and can be withdrawn once members have reached the payment threshold. The payment threshold is currently
set at £15. Payment is either via a cheque, Paypal or vouchers, and where appropriate
members are given the option to donate their cashback to nominated charities.
